Improved Collaboration with Open-Concept Floorplan
The state of Florida embarked on a project to update the Capitol building in Tallahassee with the goal of enhancing collaboration and promoting wellness for its employees. As an award-winning office design and furniture dealer with a history of successful projects with the state of Florida, Perdue® was chosen to provide a solution for the office renovation.
Through Perdue’s complete menu of office design and workplace services, the state was able to consolidate planning and collaborate with fewer providers to increase alignment across all aspects of the project while minimizing costs.
As North Florida’s premier Steelcase partner, Perdue leveraged leading research and insights to help the state make better long-term decisions for their space that promote productivity and make it easier for employees to work together. By implementing Steelcase glass front walls and Steelcase Elective Elements for offices, conference rooms, and reception area furnishings, the office design increased transparency and provided more collaborative spaces for employees.
During the initial design and space planning process, Perdue worked directly with the project architect and general contractor for the modular wall construction locations. The process included the installation of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, and sprinkler locations to protect the state from dealing with costly mistakes before construction.
By applying cutting-edge tools, including Live Design, Perdue provided the state with virtual renderings to give an accurate portrayal of furniture selections prior to finalizing plans. This enabled key stakeholders to participate virtually in the space planning and office furniture design process.
The final design featured Steelcase modular constructed privacy walls, Steelcase Elective Elements desks, Steelcase Convene series conference room furnishings, Allseating, and Sit On It conference seating. A design for a modern, updated look and quality that will last for years to come.
